Intermittent Fasting & Autophagy: what the science actually says

Some people may listen or watch this video and make the conclusion that that I'm against fasting, which couldn't be further from the truth. I fast daily, weekly and quarterly for at least 14 hours, 24 hours and 72 hours, respectfully. I also encourage others to do the same.

That said, we can't confidently advise people how long one should fast so as to maximize autophagy, because we simply don't have those studies. Yet we do know is exercise, unequivocally increases autophagy; locally within the muscle tissue and systemically within the immune system and brain.
