The Food Pyramid’s Dark Side: How It Shaped Our Health Crisis with Brian Sanders

Brian Sanders, creator of the Food Lies docuseries, discusses how traditional diets rich in animal-based nutrition contribute to better health and height, while modern dietary guidelines and the food industry’s focus on processed foods and low-protein options lead to chronic illness, stunted growth, and more.

As you go away from the equator,  you rely more on animal foods, and people are taller. These Scandinavian countries are the tallest and they're eating heavily animal-based diets. So people in Southeast Asia are the shortest, and they're relying most on rice and cheap filler foods. That's how they developed these shorter genes. It [height] is genetic, but it's also based on nutrition.”
